2 year old Chanel had just given birth to the Fashion Litter when we met her at the shelter. We couldn’t let an overcrowded, loud environment test her fate, so we whisked her and her puppies to a foster home filled with love and warmth. Chanel did a great job raising her joyful bunch and now it’s time for her to find her forever home where she can be doted on and cherished for the icon she is.
From her foster family:
From the outset, Chanel was gentle and kind, allowing us to touch her babies and trusting that we were there to help her. She was thankful to be out of the shelter and after ensuring her babies were taken care of, she allowed herself to settle in.
This gal is the real deal – easy to have around, mild-mannered, housetrained, sleeps through the night, rides well in the car, and considerately co-exists with our “I-don’t-play-with-dogs” senior dog. She hasn’t yet met a cat.
The day’s routine consists of waking up about 7am and heading outside. We play and then have breakfast. Because she was nursing a young litter, the days were primarily spent at home, in and out of the yard (Chanel has 24/7 indoor/outdoor access). She enjoys her time outside, and will come find you in the house and lay next to you. She keeps great tabs on what the family and her puppies are doing. At night, she sleeps on a dog bed in the bedroom. We've had adult dogs visit, and she enjoys playing. Adventure outings would be of interest, or she's fine with walks and yard playtime.
To match her award-winning personality, this mixed-breed gal has a beautiful brindle coat that her namesake is in awe of. Weighing 37 lbs, she could stand to gain a few (don’t tell her modeling agency). She is full-grown.
Chanel is extremely bright. She learned her name in one day, and seems to understand the general things I’m saying to her in a way that I haven’t seen with another dog before. She’s intuitive.
She lays under the kitchen table at mealtime and doesn’t beg for food. She enjoys people with polite introductions. She’s curious and observant. Such manners.
Chanel's been offered the full range of toys and there doesn't seem to be a favorite yet. This might be her first time having toys. She is very appreciative of all the love, shelter/warmth, dog beds, hugs and time spent with her. It breaks my heart thinking about what her life might’ve been like before. But we assured her, her future is bright!
Chanel has really blossomed in her time with us, and her adopters will be blessed with her even-keel sweetness. You can see her gentle soul as you gaze into her eyes. We’re excited for her to explore all the goodness that life has to offer.
Chanel would enjoy a kind, friendly dog sibling, or could be a solo. Adopters should have had a dog in the last five years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.
