This handsome guy is Gunner and he was “found as a stray” despite our belief that he was actually owned and abandoned. Gunner is estimated to be about two years old and was terrified when he first came into the shelter. He couldn’t approach us and wouldn’t take treats. He shook continuously, confused by his surroundings and how he ended up here at the shelter. Over the first we days we won his trust and he’s been improving ever since. Gunner is a medium size boy who walks well on leash. He stays close to his handler and thrives on reassurance. He takes treats very gently and enjoys all the petting he can get. He knows some basic commands (primarily sit, but we are working on the rest!) and has enjoyed playing with some of the shelter dogs, especially his girl Mitzy. Gunner would thrive in a quieter home where he can receive patience and continue to build his confidence. Gunner is the type of dog to sit in your lap and give gentle kisses, yearning for attention and love. If you think you can open your heart and home to Gunner he would greatly appreciate getting out of the kennel. He is available for foster or adoption so if interested please apply here —> www.easelnj.org/application-dog/ Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.
