My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya out there!! My name is Gio and here's the stuff you wanna know:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Staffordshire terrier mix

  • Age: 8 months approx.

  • Gender: Male

  • Weight: 44lbs (20kg)

  • Current Location: Baja Mexico

RESCUE STORY - Friends, seriously...can you believe I was found abandoned and left to fend for myself with my eight litter mates?! I mean ME? I'm the perfect little gentleman! Anyway, I can't let that get me down now can I? I've since been picked up by some nice two-legged friends down in the Baja and I've been told I've maintained my spirit of resilience and tranquility (Ommm). I'm a super chill dude and I'm always ready for love and cuddles. I make a loyal and fun-loving companion and would fit perfectly into a family who is looking to add a calm, affectionate four-legged companion to the mix.

TEMPERAMENT - I'm super loving, laid-back, charming (if I say so myself) and loyal to my hoomans. I just really appreciate any love and affection I get and I would love to pay it back tenfold if you'll let me! I have a nice, balanced energy level so I'd do equally well oot and aboot and playing with other doggos as I would do chilling at home and watching Pupflix with you. Really I can do it all!

ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Yes I'm good with older kids as you can see here (I haven't been tested with younger kids)

  • Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.

  • Cats – I seem okay with cats (see here) but can be tested further

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – These are a work in progress but I'm doing pretty good as you can see here! My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and patience :)

  • House trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

  • Crate trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

  • Car rides – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am neutered and vaccinated.

  • NOTE: dogs from the Baja are not microchipped.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
