My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Silas is the sweetest boy! He is approx 8-9yrs old and weighs 23lbs. He's somewhat of a low, long boy and we have no idea what his breed mix might be. Whatever he is, he is a very gentle tempered, kind boy that will do best in an easy going home. He was recently separated from his life long female companion so it would be great if he had another easy going female companion dog in the home. Silas is a bit on the timid side and often just sits on the sidelines, watching the activity around him. Although he will come for affection when called. He enjoys meandering through the yard to find a sunny spot in which to relax so he must have a fenced yard. He walks great on a leash, too, so neighborhood strolls where he can explore and sniff will also be welcomed. Silas is fully house and crate trained and can be left alone for a reasonable amount of hours, although we’re really looking for a home with work from home or retired folks for him to spend plenty of time with.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters should email info@k9rr.org to request an application. Once complete, the application can be returned via email and quickly reviewed. If approved, we then invite potential adopters to visit with one or more of the dogs that interest them. If the meet and greet goes well, we encourage a week long "trial adoption" to ensure a good match. During that week we communicate often and are available for support and guidance, via phone or email, 24/7.

Unless otherwise specified, K9 R&R adoption fees range from $350-$500 and include all vetting and microchip. We also provide ongoing training tips and help as needed, for the life of the dogs.

K9 R&R is a non-profit, volunteer based organization.

More about this rescue

K9 R&R rescues dogs from shelters and other various facilities across the nation, but focusing primarily on those throughout the west coast. In addition, we help re-home family pets of owners who can no longer care for them. K9 R&R assesses and works with every dog prior to adopting them out and continues to provide support to adopters for the entire life of the dog. K9 Rescue & Rehab was founded with the desire to provide a more thorough, inclusive, supportive approach to dog rescue and re-homing. When adopting a K9 R&R dog, you are not only adding a new family member, but are becoming part of an extended family that is always there to support you in hard times and celebrate with you in joyful ones.
