Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, I'm Fiona! This is my fifth time at CMHS, and I'm starting to feel a little discouraged that I might never find my "forever" home. I promise I'm not a bad cat, I'm just misunderstood. It's important that you know that I'm a little particular and I thrive on routine.
I'm an adventurous and playful girl with a big personality. I'm looking for a home with someone who can provide plenty of stimulating playtime, as I love to chase and pounce on interactive wand toys and kick around stuffed catnip mice. Sometimes I'll even play a little hide and seek (but don't worry, I'll pop out as soon as I hear the rustle of a treat bag or shake of my kibble.) When I'm not busy playing or exploring, I enjoy coming to sit beside you on the couch and having a nice chat-- I'm quite the talkative girl.
While I enjoy being pet from time to time, I do have a tendency to get overstimulated by touch. I really need my new family to be able to pay close attention to my body language, so we can stop before I get overwhelmed. In a previous foster home, my foster mom was able to learn my cues, and we were both able to enjoy more positive displays of affection. I loved sleeping at her feet when it was time for bed.
I was pretty stressed by the young children and other pets in previous homes, and would prefer a mature, quiet, household where I'm the only furry friend.
My foster says " Fiona is very much Queen of her castle and expects her wishes respected. She let me and my 7 year old granddaughter pet and play with her on her terms. She does not tolerate too much handling ( like being picked up) and will warn you off with a snap or swat. She is not shy and wants to be in same area where you hang out; she also wants to go out the door when you do so be careful. I think she will be a good companion for someone who respects her boundaries (which probably does not include children or cuddlers or other pets!).
