Sweet little Mabel tugs especially hard at the heartstrings. She is small but is full of spirit and spunk. Though visually impaired, Mabel does not view herself as disabled. She zips around energetically, keeping up with the other pups and forging ahead fearlessly. Her early socialization with other dogs and children ensures she will transition smoothly into family life.
Like any puppy, Mabel will require training and structure, but she already demonstrates a willingness to obey and please her caretakers. Her gentle, mild-mannered personality makes her an ideal companion. Mabel loves nothing more than to snuggle in a human's arms, relaxing into a state of complete contentment and tranquility.
Though her beginnings were difficult, this special girl now has the chance to live a full, happy life. She will make a devoted, loving pet for some fortunate adopter who understands her special needs. If you would like to meet her let me know!

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
