Dog Test: (No Dogs) Hooligan would prefer a home with no dogs.

Cat Test: (No Cats) Hooligan hisses at other cats and would do best with no other cats.

Kid Test: (Okay with Kids) Hooligan is very friendly and would do great with kids.

Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Hooligan keeps a very clean kennel.

Energy Level: (Medium-High) Hooligan is a very friendly. She likes hanging out in our cat lounges and scratching on our cat trees. Hooligan plays with toys and does good entertaining herself. She isn`t picky about food and always keeps a really clean kennel. She would be great in a family with kids but would prefer being the only pet.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm

We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter

We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.

Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.

When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
