My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birch and Elm are a bonded pair of sisters who are ready to fill your home with double the purrs and twice the fun! They are playful, super sweet, gentle, and very well-mannered. Elm is the quiet one of the pair. She used to be a timid wallflower who wanted nothing to do with humans, but has completely transformed into a confident cuddle bug, smooshing herself into her humans side on the sofa and every night for maximum warmth and purrs. She loves affection and tummy rubs and is definitely learning how to ask for it, but will need patience and encouragement as she adjusts to a new environment. The key to winning her love and trust is squeezy treats and freeze dried chicken. She loves tall towers, boxes, cozy cat caves, and bird watching from sunny windows. She also loves snuggling with other cats besides her siblings. Both sisters love catnip mice and feather wand toys, but they go absolutely nuts over the laser dots, which Birch likes to hog. They are playful without being rowdy and follow their humans from room to room just be close. Both also sleep in bed with humans at night. Despite their initial struggles with socializing, Elm and Birch have overcome obstacles together, forming an unbreakable bond that shines through in their every interaction. Whether they're racing through the house, sharing Churu and chicken treats, or lounging peacefully in their favorite sunny spot, these sisters have learned to love housecat life and the people they live with. As a bonus- they are used to inexpensive, eco-friendly pine pellet litter.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to the care of feral cats. Members of our group work on a volunteer basis to feed, water, and provide medical care for hundreds of feral cats in Knoxville and surrounding areas. We participate in a trap/neuter/return program in an effort to control the feral cat population. The TNR program is where feral cats are humanely trapped by volunteers, taken to a clinic to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated, then returned to their colony where they are most comfortable. Our organization holds adoption fairs in order to find homes for socialized kittens born into feral colonies and to re-home stray pets that are abandoned in our colonies! We are funded solely from donations and fund raisers with 100% of money raised going directly to controlling and maintaining the feral cat population.
