My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Butters is a Great Pyranees mix who is just about a year old. He’s a big family man who loves to be with his people. He’s good with cats (although sometimes wants to play with them) and can be dog selective at meets due to uncertainty therefore slow introductions are important. He loves to play with other dogs but can play rough and does best with dogs older than him. He is fully potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He will need a strong handler as while he walks really well on the leash he does pull and still likes to chase passing leaves 🍃 in the wind although with a firm “leave it” will let it pass by. He does require a fenced in yard to play in as he can be quite adventurous once he’s outside and if he had it his way would be outside most of the day. He is super well mannered for his person and wants to please but will need someone who can stay consistent with him to continue to enforce his good behaviors, understand that he prefers his humans within proximity of him and also give him all the love this big man deserves. He’s protective of his home as a Gaurdian dog and will do his best to scare what doesn’t belong away and always looks to foster mom for reassurance. Butters is such a good boy who wants to play often, have lots of hugs and cuddles, eat, nap and enjoy nice long walks with his human.

Butters was brought back to us due to no fault of his own as he does have heavy separation anxiety. He will need a special home where they can continue to help him adjust to learn that his people will come back. He is not loving of the crate and will sing the blues when he needs to go in when he is left alone and continuing to adjust to this will be important due to his anxiousness to keep him and his home safe. Butters will require breed experience along with a home where someone is home most of the time and is committed and patient to working with him through his anxiety and continued learning.
