My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kitty is a sweet, approximately 6-month old lab/terrier mix that was found abandoned at a hunting camp in Northern Alabama. She has one beautiful light blue eye; and her coat is a dark, dark chocolate color. She was VERY skinny and very afraid of people initially when she was found, but very quickly warmed up to her foster parents and is a happy go lucky puppy at the house!

Kitty LOVES other dogs and plays well with them. She is doing well with crate and house training but she is still very much a puppy and will need continued training with this! Kitty is learning to play with toys and enjoys being near her people. She can still be a little scared of strangers but she is not aggressive - she simply avoids them until she feels comfortable (which only takes a few minutes).

Kitty currently weighs 19 pounds but needs to gain 2-3 more pounds to be at an ideal, healthy weight for her age. Fully grown, we think she will be 30-40 pounds but only time will tell! She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, tested negative for heartworms, microchipped, and started on heartworm and flea prevention.

Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We do use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport because they care about their animals on board.
