We adopted Coco in1/21, when she was 3 years old. She loves every person she meets, and is very affectionate. She rarely barks, is house trained, and knows all basic commands. She’s one smart cookie, and a real snugglebug.
The rescue owner assured us Coco was good with other dogs, as this was an absolute requirement for us. It was quickly apparent that this was not so, but we loved her, and so worked with trainers. There was a bit of improvement, but we could never predict when she’d be friendly and when she’d lunge and snarl at another dog. The rescue refused to take her back, as they were full.
Now we are in our 70’s, and Coco is getting more reactive on her walks. We are less able to control her with the harness and leash. She bit my husband on the belly (Level 3 bite) when he was trying to restrain her when she was going hysterical at another dog being walked. She needs someone with more ability and strength to control her. She did live with two other dogs before.
