Rosalie aka Rose is a super mutt rescued from Ensenada where she was abandoned in a home with multiple dogs.
A super mutt or baja mutt is a dog whom we have NO history of parents and can only base the breed of looks or personality. If you are interested in the dogs personality vs the breed then keep reading about Rose. You can see her picture and make your own decision about what breed dog you see. Some see shepherd, others beagle, others husky, others border terrier and google tells us all about some exotic dogs who are clearly not from Mexico ha ha

I am currently fostering Rosalie. She has been with me since early March when she first arrived to San Diego and staying at casa de arwob along with other foster dogs and cats. We know Rose very well.
She arrived as a young 20 pound pup and is now mid 20s in the 25 pound range, she has grown but not a lot so we can say she is a nice medium size breed likely will be full grown in the 35-50lb range.
If this is the size dog for you, please continue reading.

Rose is house, potty and crate trained at casa de arwob, however, it is likely she will have accidents and need introduction to a new home when she finds a foster or adopter to help her transition to a new home. Rose is loved by all that meet her and is very well mannered. She loves to instigate playtime with other dogs and as an only dog in a home she would be normal medium energy, however, in a home with other dogs who are young and energetic she CAN be fairly high energy especially on the play, so we think a runner or avid hiker would be amazing for this girl.  We can say she is high energy if an adopter is looking for a running/hiking 'lets go' active lifestyle BUT she can also be a normal family dog who will be happy as long as her activity/energy level is met with daily walks, play in the park or in a yard. Rose does well with all dogs size and personality's, she can be fairly submissive to certain personalities UNLESS there is a toy involved. She doesn't have resource guarding, however, if there is a popular toy among the dogs at that moment she will make herself known its hers if she has it OR try and get it from the other dog.
If applicant has a dog who doesn't share toys well, it may not be best matched for Rosalie. Rose loves to play tug of war with toys and squeak around with toys. Her BEST time is when she is chasing, being chased or play wrestling with other dog friends. She certainly points a lot which many dogs love it because they know they are about to be chased by rose all around the yard in a game of tag.

Rose is not a big barker. She does great in her crate at night but if she is to be in the crate during day light she better be tired or she will whine. She stops and never barks but adopters in a apartment setting should be aware of this. Rose could be the only dog but she would love another dog(s) in the home. She  enjoys the pack hikes with arwob dogs, laps, car rides, and toys...she loves benabones.

Rosalie is social and loving, smart adorable little dudette who is a tomboy at heart. She is NOT  princess but a dragon slayer kinda pup. Adventure is her game!

Like all our dogs adopted out, we request adopters to sign up with dog trainers for session classes. Unless you are an experienced dog owner who has gone through dog training classes already in person with a trainer IN CLASS not reading books, videos and online forums. Those are FANTASTIC additions but you can't compare the knowledge a trainer brings to the table to have an amazing well behaved and socialized dog than at some point in your dog ownership time have gone through training. When we have fosters or adopters meet our dogs, holding on that leash is a great tell sign of who has experience training dogs and who has not.
For the wellbeing of future dog owners and our dogs staying HOME once adopted, its a small request we have for applicants to take dog ownership seriously. Dog training is of most importance For any dog age and breed. If you agree, please submit an adoption application online to either Adopt or inquire about our Foster to adopt for 2 week trial.

IF you'd like to only FOSTER please, submit the foster application online. We can help more dogs if we can secure our longer term foster dogs in individual foster homes while we take on the newbies who need training from the ground up.

More about this rescue

The A.R.W.O.B. group is based in San Diego, CA and operates mostly in Mexico as well as Southern California and will come to the aid of any animal in need which crosses our path. Our belief is to do what we can in order to “Make a difference in their lives.” From experience we have observed and feel the companion animals of Mexico are in the greatest need and accordingly we focus much of our efforts in Baja, Mexico. However, we certainly extend our help to our north of the border critters by accepting relinquished family pets, exiting both dogs and cats from the shelters of San Diego and of course by working in conjunction with other animal rescue groups in the community
