My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy, I’m Maple and I am little over 1.5 year Great Dane.

I am still in my “puppy” phase as my foster mom would like to call it. I get the zoomies a lot and I like to play with my special needs Great Dane foster bother. I love toys but I can easily chew through the cotton ones.

I am hesitant around men and little ones. So a slow greeting is a must!

I am crated trained, however I like to be around my human as much as possible and tend to whine when I am crated but I stop after a little bit. I have to be crated when my human is gone because I can’t be trusted since I like to chew on things-- something about this puppy business they say.

I currently sleep on my foster brother dog bed at night and can sleep all night without having issues!

I do tend to counter surf so my foster mom has to keep all the goodies up (I rather she keep them accessible but I guess its for my safety). I am still learning to walk on the leash but I tend to pull when I am excited and run away when there are strangers around. I heard I was getting better though!

I am a very good girl that is still working on my manners. I tend to jump when I am very excited and I think the word no, means play. But I can sit, shake, heal, and place because I completed a 4 week board and train! My jumping has gotten a LOT better, still working on the word "no".

I will be a good girl in my furever home, if they are willing to take the time and have patience. I like to chase squirrels and rabbits but also like belly rubs and butt scratches. My back leg looks funny when I am walking and playing but that does not slow me down on bit- they say I need a TPLO surgery so I don't injur myself in the future. You can ask more about this if you're interested in bringing me into your home!

More about this rescue

GDROMN is an all volunteer based rescue specializing in the rescuing and rehoming of purebred Great Danes. We take in Great Danes from shelters and also have many that are surrendered by owner.
It is our promise to do the best we can to set them up for success in their forever home. This entails veterinary care, training, and food all while showing them unconditional love.
We all love these danes like we do our own.
