This helps Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
Jethro is a gorgeous, well-trained and well-mannered boy who came into MAD due to his owner suddenly passing away. He was lucky to find his way to his current foster who is helping him heal after his loss. All he knew was his life with his late owner and this all is pretty confusing. He is decompressing well and thriving in his foster home!
He is great with other dogs, male and female, and would love a playmate! He loves to wrestle and run through the forest with them! He could be ok with cats as he's learend to tolerate the foster feline BUT he does have high prey drive so we do not recommend that he be left alone with a cat.
He is very affectionate, loyal and protective. He loves his human and is a true velcro Malinois! He would be great for someone who desires a dog who alert barks and is not overly friendly with strangers. With continued obedience training, he will be able to learn how to be around strangers. He is much better when he knows that the stranger is ok by his new human properly introducing them.
He is crate trained and does well in the car. He is not destructive. He is house trained and overall has great house manners!
He has great toy and food drive and loves to learn! He knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, here, crate, load-up, drop it, wait and backup. He will need his new human to be excited about training and understand how to be a great leader!
He has about medium energy and has the elusive off switch even with less exercise at times! However, he loves hikes and being outdoors! He is great off leash and loves going on adventures! He would be a wonderful adventure buddy! Who's ready to give this amazing boy a forever home?!?

MAD is an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Our mailing address is in Michigan, however, our dogs are in private foster homes across the US, and the state each dog's is in is posted with the name of the pet or in the title description. If you are located within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. MAD does offer transport assistance for up to 350 miles. The remainder of the distance is the responsibility of the adopter.
The basic information that we have available is in our posting, but sometimes fosters will post updates on the MAD Rescue Facebook page as well, https://www.facebook.com/groups/malinoisanddutchshepherdrescueinc.
If you would like to further inquire on this animal, please fill out this application. Applications that are completed in our process and being considered as a match will speak to the foster home to gain more information about our adoptable dog.
If you have questions about this pet please contact us at info@MADrescueinc.org.
