My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED

Meet Charlie! This tall, dark, and handsome young Rough Collie man came into rescue after his beloved human companion passed away. Charlie’s whole world has been turned upside down, and he’s understandably become a little needy as a result. We’re determined to find him a new family to shower him with love, care, and attention for the rest of his life.

Charlie is a playful young pup with energy to burn! He absolutely loves being around canine and human companions. We know that he’ll absolutely thrive in a family where he has older kids and a spirited dog sibling (or two!) of a similar size to play with. Charlie has shown signs of a strong prey drive, so we think that he needs to be in a feline-free forever home.

Charlie is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he can “sit” and “shake paw” on command. He’s highly motivated by praise and affection, so we’re sure that with a little time and effort, Charlie will be a perfectly proper Collie in no time!

Like many Collies, Charlie loves to sing the song of his peoples, so we think he’ll do best in a single-family dwelling that doesn’t share walls with neighbors. He also has to have a physical fence at his forever home to make sure that he can get his energy out by running and playing in the yard.

More about this rescue

WHO WE ARE:

TRI STATE COLLIE RESCUE VOLUNTEERS have been professional breeders and dog show exhibitors, and we have more then 50 years of combined professional experience with the collie breed. In addition, our group includes devoted collie owners and lovers. We are listed as a recognized rescue group with the COLLIE CLUB OF AMERICA

OUR MISSION:

To end the indiscriminate breeding practices of irresponsible breeders, to educate the public about the lifetime responsibilities of caring for a pet, including the necessity of spaying and neutering, and to promote the return of undying love and devotion collies offer their owners. Too many purebred collies are found as strays, in dog shelters, or in the humane societies. We hope to eliminate the euthanasia of these collies.
