My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willa is spending some time in a foster home! Here is what her foster mom says about her: "Willa is an easy-going, old soul of a dog. She is sweet and gentle with everyone she meets. She goes with the flow and is a perfectly happy napping next to you while you work-from-home. She also loves to curl up right next to you on the couch and lay her head on your lap. She is learning to play with toys and likes licking Kongs filled with peanut butter and removing squeakers from toys. She is easy on a leash, almost completely house trained, and sleeps in her crate all night with no problems. She has been friendly to every dog we've met and has been interested in, but not aggressive toward, cats. She is gaining confidence and weight every day! She's as close to perfect as a dog can get!"

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

Go meet their pets

Meet our pets at the shelter Tuesday - Friday from 12pm
m to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm, Sunday 10am-3pm. Appointments available Tuesday-Friday mornings with an adoption specialist.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
