My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 months old

Gender: Female

Breed: Terrier mix

Weight: 19 lbs

Personality: Ginger was found with her 9 litter mates on skid row in LA. She has been with her foster family since she was 3 weeks old. Ginger is smart, adventurous, funny and loves playing. She's the leader of her sibling pack, and is most loved by her foster dog siblings. She's always up to something, and keeps us on her toes. She's also a love, and is so fun to have around.

Education: Working on bathroom and leash training. Will need puppy lessons.

Favorite Activities: Playing with dogs and kids, exploring, chasing and cuddles.

Looking for: Ginger would love a home with a dog, or at least have access to dog friends! She is great with kids, and would love to have a home with some energy. Ginger is funny, playful and cute! She loves to play with big and small dogs, and is just fun to have around. She would be a great adventure buddy!

Adoption Fee: $ 500

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
