My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years
Weight: 28.6kg / 63lb

A bit about me:
- unknown history with cats; slow supervised intros recommended
- unknown history with kids; all interactions should be supervised
- dogs okay pending successful introduction
- nervous dog; will take time to warm up

Lana is a sweet girl who was found as a stray outside Calgary. This lovely pup was very nervous when she arrived here, but is slowly learning to trust shelter staff and gaining confidence during fun activities like long walks, visits to our private dog park, and afternoons snoozing in an office. Lana loves people and will benefit from a safe, patient home that can be consistent with her routine, respect her body language and help her gain confidence at her own pace. Once she trusts you she might show off her paw dance - so be ready!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
