My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.

Midge is a beautiful, very sweet 2.5-year-old border collie. Midge was relinquished because her family didn’t have time for her. She previously lived with 6 children and another dog. She was not socialized much  outside of the home during that time.

Midge  is very well behaved and will greet you with a cute, white belly to scratch. Midge LOVES her walks with her gentle leader, and playing chase with her humans. When she's excited enough she will play a little fetch and tug. She doesn't care much for balls, or frisbees but loves her fluffy stuffed burrito.

Midge does enjoy a nap with her human and just chill.

She is very polite, gentle, and respectful of things in the home, doesn’t chew things that are not hers.  She is crate trained, but crated a lot in her previous home. She does like to take naps in her crate with the door open when both her humans are home. She does well when left alone in the home out of the crate.  If tempted, she will shred soft paper/tissue and eat food off the counter. She is not a regularly scheduled eater and might skip some meals here and there. Picky about some treats but will do anything for a small piece of cheese. Midge knows sit, lay, shake, roll over, come, no, off (the furniture), and go through (the hula hoop). Midge did live with another dog in her previous home, but has been picky about her new dog friends. She would prefer to be a solo dog, and not share the human attention with another dog.

Midge's dream home would be one with a big fenced-in backyard to chase squirrels, watch the birds, and enjoy the shade. She would love it if one of her humans worked from home, or is not left alone much. She loves getting fresh air in the back seat of a car and enjoys any length of walks. Midge also enjoys hikes, learning to get her paws wet in a stream for a cold drink.if allowed, she would love to cuddle up on the furniture and in the bed if there is room for her. She is very patient but will remind you if she doesn't get the attention she needs, mostly just belly rubs. She's not a swimmer yet and just  prefers getting her paws wet and a nice cold drink from the stream.

Does Midge sound like the perfect girl for your family? Please complete an application on the Mo-Kan website for the opportunity to meet Midge.

Midge is being fostered in the Columbia, MO area.
