Charlie, is a very sweet, laid back, gentle, and loving 8-9 year old, boy that was found as a stray Jan 2023. He was extremely thin, very hungry, injured leg, and in bad shape. The wonderful couple that took him in have nursed him back to health and are ready to rehome him. They travel a lot and feel Charlie would be better off in a home with a family where he can get the attention he so needs, deserves and wants. This boy comes with a great resumé; Rides well in the car, great on a leash, house broken (not 1 accident the entire time the couple have had him), loves kids and other dogs. A home with a fenced yard would be great, he has one now, however, could probably do well if on an exercise routine. There is a lot to be said for the mature dogs... this guy is special. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Tour/Adoption Hours:
Fridays: 3pm – 5pm
Saturdays: 11am – 2pm
During adoption hours we have volunteers available to show dogs and cats to the public. For safety/insurance reasons we can only allow those 12 years or older to go into the dog kennel wing of the shelter. We ask all visitors not to stick their fingers/hands into the dog kennels. Our adoptable dogs and cats are viewable through our website. Everyone interested in applying for a dog or cat must submit an application through our website. We receive multiple applications for each animal. Applications for particular animals are based on best fit for each animal based on each animal’s behaviors and needs. An application not being selected for a particular animal does not necessarily mean the application was denied, but just that another application was approved.
