My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, they call me Coco Mo, Momma Coco, Coco Loco, Coquito, Coco Nib, Coco Beans...anything sweet. I came to Florida from the Dominican Republic to find a new home. After some research...we believe she is a 'Potcake ' breed from the Caribbean Islands! That wasn't a selection on the breeds shown on this site...but we have included a screenshot of the breed description on the last 2 photos! I had a short pit stop with another family, but let's just say I'm a bit too much to handle for the older crowd. I like to play, play, play so I need a very active family with space for me to run and get all this 9 month old energy out. I prefer women, but I'm slowly warming up to my fo-dad. It's all on my terms. I'm crate trained, trying to learn all the good dog skills like sits, down, shake but I will need work on those and structure. I do pretty well on the leash as well, but I may try and walk myself. I'm food driven but not aggressive. I love other dogs, older kids, women. I'm shy and looking for someone who can take it slow with me. But once I trust and love you, you'll know by the head boops and booty bumps I give. So, have your people call my people so we can meet and greet! *Please note that the St Francis Dog Team only adopts out to the immediate Tampa Bay area!April 29, 2024, 5:28 pm

Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.

More about this rescue

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.
