My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daffodil, the charming 1-year-old female Coonhound mix who's ready to blossom into your heart! Weighing in at 42 pounds, Daffodil is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike. Originally a stray in Spencer County, she's now flourishing under the care of Barks and Recreation, where she's been lovingly fostered. Daffodil is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs, making her an excellent companion for playdates and outdoor adventures. While her interactions with cats are still uncertain, her gentle nature suggests she could adapt with proper introductions. When it comes to children, Daffodil is a natural; her sweet disposition and patient demeanor make her a wonderful playmate for kids of all ages. This sweet pup doesn't know a stranger—her friendly demeanor ensures that everyone she meets feels like an old friend. If you're ready to welcome a loving and sociable companion into your life, consider adopting Daffodil. She's eagerly waiting to bring joy and companionship to her forever home! Apply to adopt Daffodil at ITVrescue.org today.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
