My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When our rescue partners met Coco, they were so impressed with her wiggle-butt and constant wags. They described her as the sweetest girl ever, and said she wouldn't stop giving everyone kisses. We were shocked to hear that (due to lack of space) the shelter had her set to be euthanized in only a few hours.

Farfel’s Rescue got an urgent plea to help save this sweet girl, and we couldn’t have responded faster!

Coco is a GORGEOUS Flat Coated Retriever mix, and the vets suspect she may have some Spaniel in her too. Coco is 1 year old and full grown at a tiny 35 lbs of wiggly love.

Coco is now safe in a foster home, and ready to find her forever home. Although Coco was picked up in Texas and a stray, she is clearly a very very social girl. We wish we knew where she came from! Coco has shown herself to be incredibly friendly with everyone and everything she encounters — must be the retriever in her!

From Coco's foster:

"Meet Coco! Coco is a gorgeous, kissy girl. She is very affectionate.
Great with other dogs, and even passed the cat-nose-to-nose test without reacting badly to the cat!
She's a small little fluff ball that is SO LOVEABLE!"

*Please note that she was only briefly tested with a cat, and she was on leash but did not have a negative reaction.*

Since Coco is just a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. She will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through positive reinforcement training classes. Farfel's does require all adopters to sign up for a training class, to make for a successful adoption.

Coco has been fully examined by a vet and determined to be in great health. She is up to date on her vaccines and spayed.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.

Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet dog! An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
