My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***If you are interested in Blue, the first step is to fill out our adoption application here: http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ***

Who knew a dog could be so handsome?!? Blue is ready to show off his great looks with his icy blue eyes, charming personality, and calm demeanor. He's got basic obedience down, knows to "sit" for treats, is great with other dogs big and small, and he's ready to find a new loving home.

Blue lived in a home that was a hoarding case with several other dogs (and cats!!) and he's ready for a new chance at life after being surrendered to a high-kill shelter in New Mexico.

Blue is 2 years old, and a chunky 58 lbs (should be about 50 lbs, but needs to lose a few lbs). He is a GORGEOUS boy; believed to be a Border Collie / Blue Heeler mix. We just can't get enough of his bright blue eyes!!

From Blue's foster:

"Blue is awesome!!! He loves to get snuggles and to hang out with other dogs. He is great on the leash, seems potty trained, and is sure to win the heart of anyone that meets him!"

We would love to see Blue in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he’s playful and fun-loving and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. He will be a wonderful companion for active, fun-loving individual or family who have the time and energy to give a dog the proper exercise and stimulation that he needs! He would also fit in well with a family that works from a home-based office and loves to have a best companion to love up throughout the day. We feel that he is too social a guy to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. He doesn't require another dog to be happy if his people are very present and involved...but does enjoy his canine relationships with playful dogs.

Blue is up to date on his shots, and has been fully vetted and neutered.

Group training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Blue and his new family (as it does every dog and their people). It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. It is for these reasons that Farfel's is unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't choose to give him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area.
