My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** I am currently being housed at our New York Avenue location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Avenue NE, every day from 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more.

Hilly was not feeling too silly when he was found as a sad stray. He was covered in his own waste, and he was terribly thin. Clearly, this innocent angel had been suffering but we promised him to help him recover from this stressful situation. Hilly is now gaining weight and he is making friends with all the staff and volunteers. And he is soaking up all the affection. He is just a wonderful dog! He is now more than ready for an active adopter who wants a mover and shaker type pooch to take on fun adventures. He is just a lover boy and so friendly. Hilly would love a home where he is engaged and kept busy. Given his breed, he may be way too interested in small animals so slow intros will be needed. And speaking of his breed, he is a shedding machine so keep that dog hairbrush as well as your vacuum cleaner ready. Ready for an active pup that will bring you joy? Meet Hilly soon!
