My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wallflower, the gentle soul seeking solace in a world of uncertainty. At just around 1 year, Wallflower is a small mixed breed with a heart full of potential and a spirit yearning for understanding.

Rescued on April 17, 2024, as a stray with an unknown past, Wallflower's journey has been one of resilience and quiet strength. Despite her initial apprehension upon intake, she quickly warmed up to the compassionate care of her handlers, displaying a loose body, wagging tail, and a willingness to accept affection during her medical assessment.

During her behavior assessment on April 20, 2024, Wallflower showcased her impeccable leash manners, walking calmly with a loose leash and displaying no reactivity to humans or other dogs. While she may initially be hesitant during handling, with patience and understanding, she tolerates touch and affection, though she may tense up at times.

Wallflower's gentle demeanor shines through in her interactions, as she stays close to her handler and responds positively to coaxing. However, due to her current discomfort with touch and novel stimuli, it's recommended that she be placed in an adult-only home where she can feel safe and secure.

Potential adopters should be aware of Wallflower's sensitivity to handling and potential for defensive aggression if she feels threatened or overwhelmed. Moving slowly and allowing her to initiate interactions are key to building trust and positive associations. Additionally, her anxiety, displayed through whining and seeking exits, may require patience and understanding from her future family, along with enrichment activities to help alleviate her stress.

Despite her challenges, Wallflower is a diamond in the rough, waiting for the right person to see her for the beautiful soul she truly is. With a patient and compassionate guardian by her side, she'll blossom into the confident and loving companion she's destined to be.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to Wallflower, please consider giving her the chance she deserves. Together, you can embark on a journey of healing and companionship, one gentle step at a time. Adopt Wallflower today and watch her bloom into the loving companion you've always dreamed of.
