Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Nova, a mature dog with a heart full of love. She has a unique personality that shines through her interactions. Nova is a resource guarder, meaning she values her possessions and space. This makes her a great companion for someone who appreciates personal boundaries. He prefers to be the only pet in the household, giving her the chance to form a strong bond with her human companion. Nova's ideal home would be a calm and quiet environment where she can relax and feel safe. This lovable pooch is looking for a caring individual or family who can provide her with the love and attention she deserves. Nova has a lot of love to give and adopting her would not only change her life, but it could also change yours. She's ready to make unforgettable memories with her future family. Why adopt Nova? More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
