My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi!  I’m Lucy, a sweet and spirited 10 year old apricot Maltese.  When my coat is grown out, it’s golden curls.  I am a beautiful sight to behold!  Like a princess.

I LOVE to play, to cuddle, and to be outside in a fenced yard to run and play with other dogs.  If you have any fur babies already in the home, please be sure to let them know I’m coming to play!

I am safe around your kids!  I am not mouthy or really that jumpy.  I just want LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I was left alone a lot in my previous home so I will be best with some fur baby pals and a favorite person who is around a lot.  Although I’m crate trained, I’ll cry a little when you first put me in, and don’t you even think of doing that when you’re still in the house!  I’ll let you know I don’t like that!

I have many many great points and would love a forever home with you, so if you meet this basic criteria, please put in an application so my foster mommy can tell you about me!  Foster mommy lives outside of Prior Lake.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.

Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).

Go meet their pets

All animals are available to meet by appointment arranged with the foster.
Please come see us at Petsmart on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Eagan (Petsmart 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121); 4th Saturday of each month in Richfield (Petsmart 1100 W 78th St, Richfield, MN 55423); and the 3rd Sunday of each month in Maple Grove (Petsmart 11200 Fountains Way Maple Grove, MN 55369). We will have many adoptable dogs, puppies, and maybe a kitten or two that are able to attend for public viewing... please stop in and play! If you are interested in a specific dog or cat from viewing our available animals at wagsmn.org, please email us in advance of an adoption event (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com), and we will do our best to have them at the event.
