My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stan the Man!

Hi pals! My name is Stanley. With my adorable looks and affectionate pawsonality– you’ll be even more obsessed with me than TikTok is with those Stanley cups. I’m a 1-year-old, 13-pound Terrier mix. I’m not neutered yet but I’ll add it to my to-do list! Otherwise, I’m a happy, healthy little man. I was rescued south of the border and can’t wait to continue my journey into a loving home. I hope it’s with you!

I’m a super sweet fella who loves attention, playtime, and cuddles. I can be a bit timid around big dogs at first but warm up once we’ve become friends. I haven’t met any cats so I’m not sure about them. I do well with kids but think I’d do better with older ones. I love my furry foster sibling and keeping each other company. I enjoy a little playtime, chasing flies and butterflies, and exploring around on walks. I also adore curling up on the couch or snoozing by your side during the day.

I’m almost there with potty training, close to 100%! I’m smart and eager to learn. I can sit with a hand command and I love learning from my people. I sleep through the night just fine and also enjoy going places in the car. I do well on the leash but working on staying on track when other pooches go by. I get a bit anxious when my humans leave the house but having another pup around helps me feel safe.

Since I’m such a lovebug, I should have no problem fitting into a variety of loving homes! I think I’d do best in a furever family where the people are home most of the time or there is another small dog who can be my buddy. I don’t need too much excitement and enjoy calm environments. I’m super affectionate, sweet, and a bundle of fun! Don’t wait, let’s meet for a playdate!

My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
