My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Summit is a 1 year old pittie mix. She weighs 41 pounds. Summit normally has a pretty satisfying reaction with other dogs. Her foster has been socializing her with other dogs and she likes to run around with others and greet people. She is pretty low-medium energy with the occasional zoomies outside when she's out in the open. She can wrestle sometimes with another dog that would like to match that energy. She loves people and cuddles! She pulls on leash but is still learning and doing well.  She is perfect is the car and  great in the house. She is learning “kennel” with treat rewards and will sometimes “sit.” She is house trained. She loves cuddling, chewing on dog toys and bones, occasionally sneaking away with a sock, napping, and just being next to her humans. Summit would THRIVE in a home without other pets. She needs more socialization skills before inhabiting a home with other pets. She LOVES sleeping next to you. She nuzzles her nose into your back, neck, face, pillow and just really enjoys being loved on. Where you go, she wants to go! If you would like to meet her, apply at bcaaofnj.org

Their adoption process

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized.
