My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ymir here. Here's the 411. I don't get much interest at the shelter I'm at. You want to know why? It's because I jump up in the kennel when people are walking by and that's only because I'm just trying to get their attention and go out for a walk and do my business. Do you know we are lucky if we get out 1-2 times /week by volunteers? When you get me outside you will see the real me. I'm friendly and walk ok on leash. I'm patient when this volunteer walks me and keeps stopping to talk to other volunteers. Sheesh lady I'm thinking, I'd really like to get out into a yard and play, can we move it along? I don't say that though, because I'm polite and patient. I am less than 2 yrs old and 50 lb which is mostly in my really cool ears. I'm friendly with people AND dogs and have a great time in play group. I'm hoping someone will give me a chance and take me home. I have a lot to offer. Please and thank you,
Ymir

Ymir hasn't had much luck in her young life and she's not even 2 yrs old! She has been in and out of the shelter since April 2023. Twice she has been found as a stray after being adopted. She even has 2 microchips. Now, she is becoming increasingly stressed at the shelter which she shows by jumping up and down in her kennel. Get her outside and it's a totally different dog. She's friendly , sweet and lovable. The shelter is euthanizing dogs for space so every dog is at risk.

Age: 1.5 years     Weight: 50 lb    Temperament: Good with other dogs and  older sturdy kids because of his size.  Training: House training unknown, he is in a shelter Vetting: Neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    For questions, please email:   nlherna@emory.edu  â€‹  To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
