Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The shelter I came from called me a “Playgroup Rockstar," meaning I am the dog that played with ALL the dogs there! When new dogs came into the shelter, I came to the rescue to help the people “temperament test” the new ones!
I’m a super social butterfly, and I am excellent at teaching the other dogs to loosen up and PLAY! I’m even great at “reading the room” and knowing when other dogs are playful- or if they need some space to decompress first.
I had a home before, and they loved me SO much! I had kids to play with, a nice yard, and a family that absolutely adored me. Sadly, someone in the family who lived far away got sick, very sick- and my family needed to go take care of them. It was far away, and it was sudden. They couldn’t find anywhere to move that would allow me to come. I ended up at the shelter from which I came. I was sad, but I understood. My family was sad too... BUT!
I am a young, healthy boy with lots of love to give.
I love dogs and I love kids!
I LOVE the water and would enjoy trips to the lake!
I’m even the kid of dog that would LOVE doggie daycare or trips to the dog park!
The shelter here in Georgia got REALLY full, so I came to Wisconsin in hopes I could find my forever family. Can you help me on my journey Homeward Bound? I promise you won’t regret welcoming me into your life!
Love, Rabun
FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping.
For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics.
To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

As a foster-based rescue organization, we do not have a central boarding facility for our animals. If you are interested in meeting one of our available animals, we highly encourage you to submit an adoption application. Once approved, you will be able to meet our animals.
