Dory is a 6 year old, 14 lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. She is over-the-top cute with her unique markings, ears that look like she could take off flying at any moment, and her short little legs. Foster mom says she is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved on and get belly rubs. Dory is very well behaved in the house and wants to be with her people as much as possible. Dory lost her back leg due to an accident a few years ago, but that doesn't affect her one little bit. She still loves to go on walks, and currently walks at least a mile a day with foster mom. She can still find a way to get up on the couch to snuggle next to her person. She rides well in the car and likes to ride along with foster mom when she runs errands. Dory loves her furry igloo bed, and is the ultimate cuddle bug. Dory can get a little nervous if there is a lot going on around her, so she needs a quiet, low activity home. She doesn't live with other dogs now, but we think she would be fine with another calm dog. All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.
Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats
Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs
The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.

We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
