My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Heidi. My age may tell you I'm a senior, but my heart is as young as a pup's. I've mastered the art of being a good girl. I'm friendly, so I'll greet you with a wagging tail. Sweet, because I believe in giving and receiving love. I'm smart, I've learned many tricks over time. But most importantly, I'm loyal. Once I've given my heart, it's forever. Adopt me, and let's create our own forever.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
