My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Beautiful Kona is ready for her forever family!

KONA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Come meet Kona and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 19th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!

Name:  Kona            Best Guess for Breed:  Lab/Pyrenees Mix

Best Guess for Age:  5 months as of May 2024            SEX:  Female

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  36lbs as of 3/26

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested.

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.

Special Adoption Considerations:  Because Kona is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.

Kona is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Kona! Me and my brother, Kobalt, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?

What My Foster Says About Me: Kona is a bit shy at first but once she settles in, she's a normal, friendly, happy puppy! She loves playing with the other two dogs in my house and going on walks. She's so sweet!!

Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!

TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
