Hello, I'm Kitara. My world is quiet and peaceful, just like me. I'm a bit shy, but don't let that fool you. I have a heart full of sweetness and love to share. I may take a moment to warm up, but once I do, my mellow nature shines through. I'm not one for loud noises or fast movements. Instead, I prefer a calm environment where I can relax and just be me. Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion who will cherish the tranquility we can create together.

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
