My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mia is a beautiful, affectionate, loving pup. She is the best snuggle bug on the couch & in bed. Loves the outdoors running in the fenced in yard, sunbathing on the patio, rolling in the fresh cut grass & even likes the snow. She is by my side every turn just waiting for the chance to flop on the floor for a good belly rub. Mia is a hugger, places her head on my chest as I kiss her forehead. She is a great listener, comes when called, knows wait, sit, down & leave it. She absolutely loves going for a truck ride. Doesn’t care where we are going as long as she can go.
Mia had a horrific start to her life at the hands of some terrible people as she was used as a bait dog. The love of a rescue got her out of that situation & I adopted her.
Mia not only has the physical scars on her body but some little flash backs from her past. These flash backs cause her to pick on the most submissive dog in the pack. I have 6 other dogs. She gets along very well with my Pit & English Setter. I believe that is due to them being bigger than her. She would do best in an only dog home or possibly with 1 other dog that is bigger than her. Several dog meetings would need to be done if that were the case.

More about this rescue

Canine Cupids' mission is to protect and improve the lives of homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs and to place them in permanent, loving homes.

Canine Cupids is a Certified 501c3 Organization
DATCPLicense: 288601-DS

Canine Cupids work with animals, within our community and throughout our organization is guided by three core values: compassion, integrity and dedication.

Because every animal deserves to be loved, we feel it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.

We strive to work with animal control agencies as well as other rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets within our community.

At Canine Cupids our founding principle is that "ALL dogs are individuals and deserve to be regarded as such". This mindset is core to the belief system at The Animal Farm Foundation. It assists in securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs - as well as all dogs, regardless of size, color, etc.

"We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history."*

"Breed related traits are not guaranteed. If a dog does conform to breed traits that does not mean a dog isn't an individual! Breed characteristics may contribute to a dog?s individuality, but they are not the whole story." *

Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a pooch by its stereotype!
