My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jasper! He's a beautiful chocolate point Siamese mix. He's about four or five years old and has had eye issues in the past. Nothing that needs treatment. He is visual, although that vision may be somewhat limited. The story goes that he was left on a vet tech's porch in a box and ended up at a shelter. He was clearly owned at one time. He is looking for a real forever home this time. He hadn't yet been integrated into his foster home, but when he was carried through the house, he had no adverse reaction to the other cats he saw.  He's a big strong long-legged boy, and very gentle. We are sure he will grab your heart just as he did his foster mom's and everyone's at the shelter.  Jasper is current on his vaccines, negative for leukemia and aids, neutered, and microchipped.  If interested in Jasper, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 (Land line) or hhfrey1@tds.net.

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
