My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ellie is a stunning 3 month old mixed breed female puppy. She weighs about 6 pounds. We would expect her to be medium size when fully grown. She has a beautiful brindle coat!

Ellie is a fun pup who loves people, other dogs, and loves to play. She loves toys and likes to bring all the toys she can find into her bed with her!

Ellie has been working hard on potty training, but being that she is just a young puppy, her new family should be prepared to do additional potty training while she learns the routine at her new home in WI.

She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition.

She will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday May 3rd, and will be available to meet, and take home if she is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below.

Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. Should you find that she is not a good fit for your family upon meeting, the deposit is refundable.

Additional adoption info

Texas Rescue Riders follows the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, which recommend conversation based adoptions and education to find a good home. Ensuring a good home doesn’t require excessive arbitrary rules. Adopters have many options when it comes to finding their new best friend, and making the decision to adopt rather than go to a more convenient pet store or breeder shouldn’t be a difficult process.

Our pets are available to meet at their foster homes or local public meeting spots. Adoption events are posted on our Facebook page.

More about this rescue

Texas Rescue Riders appreciates our community's support in bringing dogs and cats from rural Texas into loving homes in the Midwest. Our amazing rescuers in Texas save these animals off the streets, where there is a severe pet overpopulation problem due to cultural differences and year round temperate climate. Texas Rescue Riders is an all inclusive rescue- we rescue first hand, nurse back to health, provide veterinary care, transport and adopt them out on our own. Our journey may begin in Texas, but it lives on in the north with our amazing adopters, fosters, volunteers and collaborating businesses. We are bound by our love of these precious souls who have joined their forever homes - and by those homeless dogs and cats whom we have not yet met - but who are waiting for their chance at happily ever after.
