My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is what a sweet volunteer wrote about Seal:

One look at this round and whiskery face and you’ll guess his name… meet Seal!
Seal is a 2yo mixed breed who came to SJRAS as a stray. He is loving, playful, and obedient. Seal is the happiest-go-lucky boy. What more can a family ask for?

His name is a bit ironic because unlike his namesake, this boy LOVES to run and jump! If you dangle or throw a toy in the air, he will run and jump to almost eye level to snatch it. But what Seal really loves the most is cuddles. As much as he loved to chase and jump in the play yard, every time I squatted to the ground Seal would try to climb in my lap. He laid himself across my legs and was most content to stay there and watch the world go by. He’s a hugger and a lover, and wants so desperately to please the people he’s with.

Seal is energetic but submits easily when corrected or approached. He already knows “sit” and “down,” so it’s possible that he was a house pet before. He was interested in watching other dogs but will need to be formally dog tested.

Seal is full of love and has great training potential. He’s the perfect mix of play and snuggle. Are you ready to Seal the deal?

CARING FOR SOUTH JERSEY PETS SINCE 1947
Founded in 1891 and incorporated in June 1947, we are a non-profit organization and a chapter of the NJ State SPCA. The staff and board of trustees are deeply involved and committed to all aspects of animal care and welfare. The money to finance the shelter comes from fees charged to municipalities to house their stray animals, fees charged to adopt, reclaim or release an animal to us, dues, donations, grants, fund-raisers and bequests from caring individuals. In our function as a humane society, the shelter serves as a refuge for thousands of stray, unwanted, abused, abandoned and sick animals
