My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Moody! My name doesn't exactly describe me 100%, I would say it is only 10% of my overall sweet personality. I have not been around a lot of humans in my lifetime and my friends at the shelter are so proud of the tremendous strides I have made during my time in their care. I need a cat savvy family who will know who to interact with me by allowing me the time I need to acclimate to my new environment.

Kids are great but I would love to have a home with no kids under 12 and would love to meet all the little ones in the house to make sure we are a match.

I have a medical condition called FIV. I can go into a home with another resident cat as long as it is vaccinated on an annual basis or one who also has FIV. Feel free to talk with an adoptions specialist for more information on what FIV is and my medical needs

To adopt a pet from the SPCA of Texas, we not only help make love connections, but we then walk you through an adoption process that is geared to ensuring you and the pet are a great match. There is a contract to sign at the end of the process. Adoption fees are as follows:

Puppies 0-6 months: $150
Adult dogs 6 months or older: $75

The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations (which can include Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella), spay/neuter surgery, deworming treatment, initial heartworm preventative, a rabies tag, Free health examination within fourteen days of the adoption thanks to our partnership with VCA Animal Hospitals, a leash and a microchip. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult). Free week of training through Good Pup.

Also included is a free week of training through Good Pup.
