My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet and deserving companion? Look no further than Charlotte, a gentle soul weighing 56 pounds, who is eagerly awaiting her chance to be doted on and cherished.

Charlotte's journey began when she arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from our partner shelter in Louisiana. She had recently had puppies who have since moved on, and now it's her turn to find a loving home where she can receive the love and attention she deserves.

Upon her arrival, Charlotte tested positive for Heartworm. While this may seem daunting, our staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Charlotte to undergo treatment and recover is in the loving care of a forever family like yours.

If you choose to adopt Charlotte, our clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, offering guidance, answering questions, and providing support throughout the treatment process. Typically lasting around three months, the treatment involves simple at-home steps to keep Charlotte safe while she heals. The final step includes a follow-up test six months after treatment begins.

It's essential to understand that the Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and our staff anticipates that Charlotte will make a full recovery! Additionally, it's important to note that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes, so there's no risk to human members of the family.

If you're ready to welcome Charlotte into your home and be a part of her journey to recovery and happiness, please consider opening your heart to this deserving gal. Together, we can give Charlotte the second chance at a loving forever home that she truly deserves.

For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
