My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hercules came to us as a stray from the Missoula County Animal Shelter. The person who brought him in knew a lot about him though and said he was good with goats, sheep and horses but he does like to kill chickens. Cats are unknown but he will be cat tested. He does not like going inside so its safe to assume that he's only been outside and would make a perfect LGD for a large ranch or farm. Rides well in the back of a caged pick up, but wanted to be in the passenger seat of a normal car. He is happy and gets along well with other dogs through fences. He wags his tail and just wants to play. He has not tried to jump any fences so that is promising. He would do well with a family who needs a LGD and a big fluffy dog to care for the stock.

He is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. He is available for adoption at $275. He is at the Old Farm Kennel in Florence, MT. Come meet him and take him home!

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
