My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Fig, which is an adorable name created by an acronym for FOUND IN GARBAGE. I guess that explains my tragic start in life, found in a garbage dumpster last month and then brought to a veterinary clinic in San Antonio Texas. Thankfully a very nice lady fostering dogs for 4 Little Paws Rescue was inside and overheard the conversation about putting me back outside. Next thing I know, I’m in her arms, she’s now my foster mom, and I then had my first vet visit.

I am now 12 weeks old, I’m a boy, I’m a Shepherd mix, I currently weigh 11.2 lbs, and I am a looker. I was instantly friendly and sweet and didn't mind everyone looking me over that day, and most importantly, I was healthy and uninjured. These days I am still healthy, friendly, and sweet and vet visits still don't bother me. I am outgoing and smart with a curious nature, a typical puppy with a touch of sass, LOL. Playtime and puppy toys rock my world and I'm looking forward to my next adventure... moving to Connecticut to meet whoever adopts me!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
