If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I adopted Maya a few years ago from a womens sober living facility that fostered other cats. Maya, God bless her heart, is a very anxious baby and does not do well with change. She had been a great addition to my household until there were some recent changes - I took in a dog (for security reasons), I moved into a new place, and my daughter came into this world. I think these changes really stressed her out to the point where she is now always hiding and does a poor job at cleaning herself. I feel absolutely awful about needing to re-home her as I do love her very much, however, she just is not thriving like how she did in the past and there is nothing I can do about it. It is my hope that she will do better at her next home. I think she would do well somewhere with minimal activity and no dogs. She did well with my other cat until the recent changes, so being around other cats should be fine. Maya is normally a very social and cuddly cat. She purrs obnoxiously loud and LOVES people!
