My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Chappo and I am available for adoption.

I was brought in by a good Samaritan on April 18th, 2024.

I am considered a `large breed` dog.

I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home once I fully get to know you. I`m a shy guy who tends to take my cues from the world around me, but I really do like my people and am all wiggles once you become my best friend.

My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other large dogs. I actually came in with my bestest buddy Julius (A706950) He`s the more open one but that helps me to know that the world isn`t that scary. So having another dog at home would actually be really good for me. Just remember that although I have had experience with another dog, when meeting dogs in a new home, it is always best to do a slow introduction. With a slow introduction my new friend and I can be our best selves moving forward together.

Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home. `Revolving Door` policies isn`t something that would work for me. I`m the kind of pup that would like to get to know everyone before they come into my house as that can be very scary for me.

I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Animals require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn. If you and your family are ready to fall in love my awesome self, please check me out!!

I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

***April showers bring May flowers - and a lot of dogs at Regional Animal Services! Through May 31, you can `Pick Your Price` when you adopt an adult dog (six months or older). Adoption fees are $25, $50, $75, or $100, plus a pet license fee if applicable.***
