Additional adoption info

TO SPEED UP THE ADOPTION PROCESS, YOU CAN NOW USE OUR WEBSITE TO FILE ONLINE FOR A PET! SITE IS SECURE!

Prospective individuals or families must meet requirements set by our group. There is a contract to sign. There is a fee for animals that are in our foster care program. Cats over six months of age come spayed or neutered. Sometimes a cat at the shelter might not be spayed or neutered because of availability at our low cost clinic. In that case, the cat will go through the State voucher program instead. Our adoption counselor will let you know if this applies. Our kittens are tested, vaccinated and de-wormed. You are required to spay/ neuter by six months of age. Your can do this through your own vet or we will give you list of low cost clinics. Thank you!

More about this rescue

Friends of Berlin Animal Control was founded in 1999 when a town citizen and the Berlin Animal Control officer worked together to rescue a wounded cat. This event established a continuing relationship between a group of concerned citizens and the town animal shelter. We also have a system of foster homes for cats that we have pulled out of the shelter because of overcrowding, or for cats that are found on the streets. We are always in need of additional foster homes.
