✅ Trail master
✅ Former dressage training
✅ Willing, Crosses rivers, mud, logs, etc
✅ Leads, follows or middle
✅ Stands to mount and stands tied
✅ Hackamore / Bitless
✅ Barefoot - front boots (or shoes) for trails
✅ Prefers a slow gait (more whoa than go)
✅ Respectful of fences
Horatio’s owner surrendered him as she has retired from riding due to health issues (75 years old). “Sho” is one of those horses that you put visitors on and head down the trail - or you enjoy yourself for an easy-going ride. He’s been trail ridden all over TN, NC, VA and KY. He rides bitless/in a Hackamore and in front boots. He’s a sweet boy who’s food motivated 😉. He’s been stalled and pasture boarded - no issues either way. Lower in the herd.
He has slowly lost the vision in his left eye over the last year, but the only noticeable effect has been that he turns a little wider to the left so that he can look with his right eye instead. Otherwise you wouldn’t know that he was blind in 1 eye at all!
Multiple people have ridden Sho and can vouch for his soundness and good trail nature.
