My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Edward, although Ed, Eddie or Edward Happy Tail would be fun as well. My tail gives away my joy when I am getting neck or fanny scratches or any sort of loving from humans; I am quite affectionate. I was a stray in Milwaukee and went to a place called MADACC. Once I was ready for adoption, I had the opportunity to come to WCHS to find my new forever home. I am a smart lad but I am still a youngster so I do have much to learn, discover and explore. I am looking forward to experiencing new things, places and people with you by my side; so many things that seem common to you are novel to me. It would be lovely if we could take some classes together. I already know how to ‘sit' on cue but I must confess that I do need to work on some manners and keeping four-on-the-floor. I am a cheerful and friendly boy who loves to play; I guess I just like to have a good time. I am an active guy who will need plenty of exercise to give me an outlet for my abundant energy; it is true that a tired dog is a good dog. I also like to keep my brain busy and engaged so it would be grand to try my paw at mentally challenging games or toy or get involved in activities like nose work. It would be great to accompany you on a nice long walk each day; that would be a wonderful way to bond and enjoy Mother Nature together. I weigh about 40 pounds now but I do have plans to get a little bigger; I bet I will always fit on your lap though. I hope you stop by to meet me in person because I love to have a large circle of friends; I am a real people-pooch.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Visit the shelter. We have an application that takes about 15 minutes to fill out once you have found a pet you like. You call back the next day which gives us time to review the application and gives you 24 hours to think about your decision to adopt. You can also complete our on-line application and get approved in advance of finding the perfect companion. Once approved, you are able to adopt an animal the same day.
