My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on 4/24/24.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ralph, a turtle who's as curious as they come. He loves exploring his surroundings, whether it's a new corner of his tank or an unfamiliar face. He's also quite the problem solver, often amusing staff with his determination to get to a particularly tricky piece of food. Ralph is an excellent companion, providing both entertainment and tranquility. He's looking for a home where his curiosity can be nurtured and where he can bring joy to his new family. Adopting Ralph means bringing a little piece of nature's wonder into your home, a friend who will always be there, quietly exploring and appreciating the world with you. Want to know more? More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
